where we will go

Old time jazz from the 20'sI did a tour last Monday night that was a bit of a revelation. Old traditional jazz and swing music from the 20's, 30's, and 40's seems to define Monday nights in New York: Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks at Club Cache; Grove Street Stompers at Arthur's Tavern (for the last 40+ years); The Cotton Club All Star Band uptown in Harlem. From Woody Allen's New Orleans' sound, to the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra, it's New York at its most nostalgic. For fans of the primordial days of jazz through the big band era, Monday night is killer.   We will customize this tour to include the clubs and transportation options to suit your budget.  All the music is swinging, so wherever we go we'll see the best regardless if we visit dives or fancier rooms.  You can give your dancing shoes a work out on this tour.

Anita O'Day with Christie, Jeff and GordonJazz tours are customized specifically for you or your group.  A group can be any size.  I have couples and families and small circles of friends calling me from around the world, and I have corporate groups and school outings looking for something different than the typical night dinner and a show.  So keep it intimate or invite your friends out for an exciting and memorable evening.

guide service fee

Seleno Clarke and Chevy Chase Guide service is $75 per hour and we need at least 4 hours. = $300

expenses

Jean-Michel Pilc and Harry Belafonte at Jazz StandardDinner, drinks, and cover charges will be extra.  Some clubs charge nothing for music, others have a $10, $15, $20, or $50 charge.  We can save on transportation by staying in one area and walking from club to club, or splurge by hiring a limo for $125/hour.  The budget is in your hands.
